The Catholic Church welcomes new members through a process of education, faith sharing and rituals known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). (Previously known as RCIA, the name has recently changed to reflect that the program is the beginning of a journey rather than the celebration of a specific rite, as well as being a more accurate translation of the Latin.) Anyone who is over the age of eighteen and interested in learning more about the Catholic Church can start the OCIA journey. All that is required is a sincere desire to learn, grow, and develop one’s relationship with God.
Whether you have no Christian background, are interested in converting to Catholicism from a Protestant denomination, or are a baptized Catholic who needs to receive First Communion and/or Confirmation, everyone is welcome and invited to join us for our OCIA program! We also welcome Catholics who have been away from the practice of the Faith and want to brush up on the teachings of the Church.
